MOVEMENT HEALTH COACHING

Stay strong. Move better. Perform longer.
Build a body that never has to slow down.

Home: Welcome

What Would It Look Like If Your Body Kept Up With Everything You Want to Do?

Most people engage with their physical health in one of two ways: they train hard and hope for the best, or they wait until something breaks and then seek care. There is a third way. One that is proactive, intentional, and designed not just to keep you out of pain, but to keep you performing at the level your life demands, for decades.

Movement Health Coaching at EVO Performance Therapy is built for active adults who refuse to accept that slowing down is inevitable. It is not a fitness program. It is a clinician-led movement and performance system that assesses how your body works, identifies what is quietly limiting it, and builds a personalized strategy to improve strength, mobility, resilience, and longevity, without waiting for an injury to force your hand.

You do not have to be hurt to invest in how you move. In fact, the best time to start is before you are.

The best investment you can make in your physical future is the one you make before something goes wrong.

THE EVO APPROACH

What Is Movement Health Coaching?

You get your teeth cleaned twice a year. You change your oil every few thousand miles. You go for an annual physical before you feel sick.

So why do most people wait until they are in pain to take care of how they move?

What does your movement health routine look like?

For most active adults, the honest answer is: there is not one. Training, yes. Recovery, sometimes. But a deliberate, expert-led system for assessing and improving how the body moves, builds strength, and holds up over time? That is almost always missing.

Movement Health Coaching fills that gap. It is the proactive side of performance healthcare — a structured program delivered by a doctorate-level clinician that treats your movement quality and physical resilience the way a forward-thinking physician treats your metabolic health. Not reactively. Systematically.

Improve Recovery

Movement Health Coaching is not personal training with a clinical name. It is a meaningfully different model of care.

At EVO, every program begins with a comprehensive movement assessment conducted by a licensed doctor of physical therapy or chiropractic.

We evaluate:

  • how your body moves as a system

  • where mobility is restricted

  • where strength imbalances exist

  • where compensation patterns have developed

  • where risk is quietly accumulating.

That clinical picture becomes the foundation for everything that follows.

From there, your program combines hands-on treatment as needed, personalized mobility and strength programming, performance health coaching, and regular progress reassessments. Your clinician tracks how your body responds and evolves the plan accordingly. This is not a template. It is a system built entirely around you.

How It Differs From Fitness Coaching or Personal Training

How It Differs From Traditional Physical Therapy

Traditional physical therapy is triggered by injury, driven by symptom resolution, and typically ends when pain subsides. Movement Health Coaching starts before injury occurs and continues for as long as you have goals worth working toward.

The question it answers is not: how do I get back to where I was? It is: how do I get to where I want to be, and how do I stay there?

"

“I have been a patient of Dr. Ben's for more than a year and a half. As an active individual, it's so wonderful to have a practitioner that enhances my exercise practice and ensures I'm as physically healthy as I can be. I have seen Dr. Ben for specific pain issues, but continue to see him regularly to live an injury free life and avoid costly medical procedures. Before you see a doctor for your pain concern, do yourself a favor and call them. Your body and wallet will thank you.”

Improve Recovery

Movement Health Coaching is not designed for a specific sport or a specific age. It is designed for a specific mindset: the belief that your physical health is worth investing in before it demands your attention.

You might be in your 40s and noticing that your body takes longer to recover between hard training sessions. You are not injured, but something has shifted, and you want to get ahead of it rather than wait until you are forced to. You might be a runner who has cycled through nagging injuries for years and finally wants to understand why your body keeps breaking down in the same places.

You might be a professional who trains consistently outside of work hours and wants to make sure that the stress your career puts on your body does not quietly erode your performance in the gym, on the course, or on the court.

You might be someone who has just finished a Performance Therapy Care Plan and does not want to go back to managing things on your own. You want to keep building, not just maintain. Or you might be someone who has watched a parent or peer lose physical independence earlier than expected and has decided, quietly and firmly, that is not going to be you.

What all of these people share is not a diagnosis. It is a standard. They hold their physical health to the same standard they hold their professional performance, their relationships, and their finances, with long-term intention.

What Movement Health Coaching Is Built to Achieve

Injury Prevention

We identify the movement patterns and physical deficits that accumulate risk over time and address them before they become limitations. Proactive care is always cheaper than reactive care.

GOALS WE HELP WITH

Every client comes in with a different set of goals. What they share is a commitment to their physical future. Below are the outcomes we most commonly work toward in this program.

Strength for Longevity

Muscle mass and strength are among the most powerful predictors of long-term health and independence. We build strength that serves your joints, protects your structure, and supports your performance for decades.

Balance and Coordination

Balance is a trainable skill, and one that becomes increasingly important with age. We assess and develop the neuromuscular coordination that keeps your body stable, reactive, and confident under real movement demands.

Athletic Longevity

Whether you are a competitive athlete or a recreational one, your ability to keep doing what you love requires intentional investment. We help athletes of all levels build the physical foundation that sustains long-term performance.

Recovery Optimization

How quickly and completely you recover between training sessions directly affects how consistently you can perform. We assess your recovery capacity and build strategies that help your body adapt rather than just absorb stress.

Active Aging and Healthspan

Staying active as you age is not about doing less. It is about training smarter. We build plans that account for how your body changes over time and keep your physical capacity ahead of what age would otherwise take.

Movement Quality

How efficiently your body moves under real-world demands determines how well it holds up over time. We assess and improve movement quality across the patterns that matter most to your sport and lifestyle.

Mobility Improvement

Range of motion is not fixed. With targeted mobility work and progressive loading, we restore and expand the movement capacity your body is capable of, and train it to maintain that range under real demands.

WHAT IS INCLUDED

Improve Recovery

Comprehensive Movement Health Assessment

Every program begins with a thorough clinical evaluation of how your body moves. We assess mobility, strength, balance, movement patterns, and biomechanical contributors across the full kinetic chain. The assessment identifies not just what is limited, but why — and what that means for your performance and injury risk going forward. This is your baseline and the foundation for everything that follows.

Personalized Mobility and Strength Programming

Based on your assessment, your clinician builds a fully personalized program targeting the specific mobility restrictions, strength deficits, and movement quality issues identified in your evaluation. Programming is calibrated to your current capacity and advances as you respond. Nothing is templated. Everything is built around your body and your goals.

Hands On Treatment as Needed

Movement Health Coaching is not purely a coaching program. When hands-on clinical treatment — manual therapy, soft tissue work, joint mobilization — will meaningfully improve your movement quality or accelerate your progress, it is integrated directly into your sessions. Your clinician makes that determination based on what your body needs, not a fixed protocol.

Performance Health Coaching

The work that happens in the clinic is only part of the picture. Your clinician provides ongoing guidance on training load, recovery strategy, and the lifestyle factors that directly affect how your body adapts and performs. This is the coaching layer that translates clinical insights into real-world application.

Regular Reassessment and Plan Evolution

Movement Health Coaching is not a static program. Your clinician reassesses your movement regularly, tracks progress against your baseline, and adjusts your plan as your body responds. The goal is continued improvement, not maintenance — and your program reflects that at every stage.

Flexible Session Frequency

This program is available in one, two, or four sessions per month depending on your goals and lifestyle. Your clinician will help you determine the right cadence at your initial assessment and adjust it over time.

A Complete System for Long-Term Movement Health

Movement Health Coaching at EVO is a fully integrated program. Every component is connected and evolves with you over time.

WHY THIS MATTERS

The Science Behind Movement Health and Longevity.

What the Research Shows

Grip strength is one of the simplest yet most powerful predictors of long-term health outcomes. A large multinational study published in The Lancet found that grip strength was a stronger predictor of cardiovascular death than systolic blood pressure. Weaker grip strength is associated with higher all-cause mortality, greater cardiovascular risk, and accelerated functional decline.

Mobility, described by some researchers as the "sixth vital sign," is independently associated with long-term functional capacity and survival. A sitting-rising test study published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology found that individuals who scored below 8 out of 10 on the ability to sit and rise from the floor without assistance faced a significantly higher risk of early death.

Muscle power begins declining as early as your 40s, at nearly double the rate of muscle strength. Research from the Longevity Check-up 8+ study found that low relative muscle power was strongly associated with mobility limitations even after controlling for age, BMI, and chronic conditions.

And VO2 max (how efficiently your body uses oxygen) is one of the strongest predictors of longevity available. Moving from the lowest fitness category to below average is associated with a roughly 50% reduction in mortality risk over a decade.

These numbers matter because they are changeable. Strength, mobility, movement quality, and cardiovascular capacity all respond to the right stimulus, at any age. The adults who maintain physical capability well into their 60s, 70s, and beyond are not simply lucky. They are investing intentionally in the physical markers that predict a long, capable life.

That is exactly what Movement Health Coaching is built to support.

The longevity research of the last decade has produced one of the most consistent and striking findings in medicine: your physical capacity — how strong you are, how well you move, how efficiently your body uses oxygen — predicts how long you will live and how well you will live it, more powerfully than almost any other factor.

These are not peripheral fitness metrics. Researchers now consider them core vital signs.

What are your movement health numbers telling you right now?

Most people do not know. And that is where we start.

Why Waiting Is a Strategy
Just Not a Good One

The physical decline that most people accept as inevitable is, in large part, a consequence of not training the qualities that prevent it. Strength declines when it is not challenged. Mobility narrows when it is not maintained. Movement quality degrades when it is not assessed and corrected.

None of these changes announce themselves with pain or obvious symptoms. They accumulate quietly, over months and years, until one day the body can no longer absorb what is being asked of it. That is when most people seek care.

Movement Health Coaching is the decision to not wait for that moment.

THE EVO DIFFERENCE

Why Clinician-Led Movement Coaching Changes Everything.

Movement health programs are only as good as the expertise behind them. What separates EVO's Movement Health Coaching from generic mobility classes, online coaching programs, or even well-intentioned personal training is the clinical depth applied to every assessment, every program, and every session.

Doctorate-level clinical assessment: Every EVO clinician holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy or Chiropractic. The movement evaluation you receive is a clinical one — informed by deep expertise in biomechanics, injury risk, anatomy, and physical performance. That level of assessment reveals things that fitness professionals and general practitioners are not trained to find.

Proactive by design: We are not waiting for something to break. The entire program is structured around building capacity before limitations appear — which means your clinician is looking for what needs attention before it becomes a problem, not after.

Performance-oriented philosophy: EVO is a performance healthcare company. That means the lens through which we assess and program your care is always performance: not just how do you feel, but how do you move, adapt, recover, and perform at the level your life demands.

Hands-on care integrated throughout: When clinical treatment will meaningfully move the needle on your mobility, tissue health, or movement quality, it is part of your session. This is not available in a gym coaching program. It is a defining feature of working with a clinician at EVO.

A long-term partner, not a short-term fix: Movement Health Coaching is not a 6-week program with a defined endpoint. It is an ongoing relationship with a clinician who knows your body, tracks your progress, and evolves your plan as you do. The ceiling is wherever you want to set it.

“I started going to EVO with a big goal in mind: running a marathon in 2025. From the very beginning, Dr. Graves felt like a true partner in the process. When injuries popped up, he knew exactly how to adjust my training and incorporate the right exercises to keep me moving forward safely. I genuinely could not recommend EVO enough as a partner to help you reach your goals, whatever they may be.”

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Common Questions About Movement Health Coaching

What is movement health coaching?

Movement health coaching is a clinician-led program designed for active adults who want to optimize how their body moves, builds strength, and performs over time — without waiting for an injury to prompt action. At EVO, it combines a comprehensive movement assessment, hands-on treatment as needed, and fully personalized programming to improve mobility, build resilience, and support long-term physical performance. It is the proactive side of performance healthcare.

Is this different from personal training?

Significantly. Movement health coaching at EVO is delivered by a licensed doctor of physical therapy or chiropractic, not a personal trainer. That means your program is built from a clinical movement assessment, informed by a deep understanding of biomechanics, injury risk, and physical performance. The hands-on treatment component, the clinical reasoning behind every exercise selection, and the integration of longevity and performance science are not things a personal trainer is trained or licensed to provide.

Can movement health coaching help prevent injuries?

Yes. Injury prevention is one of the primary goals of this program. Most injuries in active adults are not random events. They are the result of movement deficits, strength asymmetries, and training load imbalances that have been accumulating unnoticed. By identifying and addressing those patterns before they reach a threshold, movement health coaching meaningfully reduces the risk of the injuries that typically sideline active people.

Is this a good fit for adults over 40?

It is one of the best investments an active adult over 40 can make. Research consistently shows that strength, mobility, and movement quality are among the most powerful predictors of healthspan and functional independence. The physical changes that come with age are real, but they are not fixed. With the right stimulus, consistency, and expert guidance, adults in their 40s, 50s, 60s, and beyond can continue building capacity rather than simply managing decline.

Do I need to be injured to start?

No. That is precisely the point of this program. You do not need pain, an injury, or a diagnosis to benefit from movement health coaching. In fact, the clients who get the most out of it are those who are already active and healthy and want to stay that way. Think of it the way you think about dental checkups or routine bloodwork: you go because maintaining function is easier and smarter than repairing it after breakdown.

Can movement health coaching improve athletic performance?

Yes. Improved movement quality, mobility, and structural resilience directly translate to better performance across virtually every sport and activity. Clients in this program commonly report improvements in strength output, training consistency, recovery speed, and the ability to train at higher intensity with less breakdown. The physical foundation that movement health coaching builds is the same one that supports peak performance.

How often do I need to come in?

Frequency is built around your goals and lifestyle. Movement Health Coaching at EVO is available in one, two, or four sessions per month depending on what you are working toward. Your clinician will help you determine the right cadence at your initial assessment and adjust it over time as your program evolves.
